COURTENAY.
Tbo quarterly meeting of the Oourlenay Licomiog Committee wis held at the Boad
Board office, Erwee, on Tuesday, Deo. 5, at noon ; all the members present. The minutes of the last meetiag having been read and approved, the Chairman read the report of the Inspector for the district for the past three months, which was of a favourable character for the three houses in the distriot. G. Pranks, of the Kirwee Hotel, having failed to comply with the instructions of the Committee given last meeting for him to transfer his license to some suitable person, was called upon to explain why he had not done so. It appearing, from Mr Franks' statement, that his negleot to transfer was owing to a misunderstanding with reference to the valuation of the stock, the Committee decided to adjourn the meeting till Jan. 4 next, to give Mr Franks time to transfer ; at the same time informing him that if he failed to do so by that time, the license would be taken away.
