WOOLSTON TOWN DISTRICT.

A meeting of the Commißßionerß of the Woolston town district was held in the Library on Thursoay laBt; preaent — Messrs Hopkins (Ohairroan), York, Tioknor, M'Diarmid, Attwood, unci Ojlcb. The Ohairman re« pt rted thafc a Conference had been held with tbo Heathoote Hoad Board, and a Oommittee appointed to adjust the aooounts, but no agreement could be arrived at, the Oommittee boing unanimous that the aooounts were very muoh one- sided. Correspondence referring to same will be laid beforo tho Oounoil, also two state monto of aooounts. The Ohairman also reported that tho attontion of the Worka Committee had been drawn to the encroachment made by the contractor upon Ferry road. Tho Clork roported he had applied to other town dißtrictß, and also to the Ohristchurch City Oouncil for copios of by-laws. Correspondence waa read : —From the Selwyn Oountj Council re licenae feeß. From the Heathcote Boad Board, re sido ohannels being attended to, also statement of amended accounta. Several items contained therein the Chairman contended were very unfair, and tho Commissioners quite concurred in this. After some diacueoion it was resolved — "That the Committeo communicate with the Governor, requesting him to appoint a Commissioner to adjust the accounts, nnder secj tion 12 of the Town Districts Aot. An account was received for formation of footpath, which was held ovor until aocompanied with a certificate of approval from the Works Oommittee. Accounte from Messrs Major, Oharles worth, and White, for labour, amounting to £6 la, wero pa.Bed for payment. From Mr J. S. Buxton, re dangorous part of Ferry rcud. The Olork wos instructed to inform Mr Buxton it would be attended to. From Mesarß Parkyn and Aylward, re price of metal. Held ovor. From the Bailway League. Deferred for after consideration. The following resolutions were paaaed :— Be awing bridge. Tho Olork was instructed to acknowledge receipt of letter from Heathooto Boad Board, and state the Committee consider ifc quito safe for the present. — Be encroachment of road. The Clerk to inform tho Ohairman of the Tramway Company that the contractor has encroached upon tho main road, and requeat him to sco it attonded to, and left in proper order. — Ec dangerous part of road between Mr Butcher's and Mr George's hotel. That the Works Committee oall for tenders to lower bank. That Moßars Hopkins, Attwood, and M'Diarmid form tho By-law Committee, and also consider tho permanent dutios of Olerk for ensuing year ; alao that tho Woolston town district adopt the new Bating Aot of 1882, and the Clork aend necessary information to Commissioner.
