♦ INSPECTION OF THK MOUNT SOMERS LINE. [special to thb "stab."] RAKAIA, Deo. 6. The Hon Walter Johnston visits Ashburton on Saturday morning, with the object of making a personal inspection of the Mounfc Bomers lins, especially as fche route of the proposed extension is so much complained against by the local peoplo, who dosiro to have the line taken across the river to the Alford Forest district, Mr Johnston is likoly to be well roceived and cared for by the Mount Somers people. Members of the County Council, and others interested, are likoly to accompany him on fche trip.
