— » — OHBISTOHUHOH. This Day. (Before J. Ollivier, Esq., 8.M.) DIBOBBYING OeDEB OT COTJBT.— J. J. Dowey, who had been arrested on warrant, was accused of disobeying an order of the Court to pay for the support of his children in the Industrial School. The orreari amounted to £4 4a. Acoused said he hai met with an Accident to his hand, whioh disabled him from working. HU Worship adjourned the case for four weeks, during which time he must pay up the arrears, or a portion of them. Labobnt.— Patrick Kyan was oharged, on remand, with stealing wearing apparel, value £2, the property of John Bains. The accused had been remanded on the previous day, on tho application of Mr Loughnan, who, however, did not novr appear to defend him. Inspector Fonder called tho piosecutor, John Bains, a cook at King's restaurant, in Chester street, who stated that on Thursday and Friday night last witness and prisoner slept in the same room. Witness had some clothing and other proporty in a bag in the room. On Saturday morning witness missod a number of articles of clothing— trousors, Bhirts, and waistcoat, also a comb, bottle of lime-juioe and glycerine, &c. On the evening of the same day ( some other articles were missed. On Friday last the accused, it appeared, had pledged several of the articles at Stewart's pawn shop for 3s. Prosecutor valued the articles he had lost at £2, and those recovered were only worth £1. The accused had been arrested oa Thursday night by Deteotivo Hughes. He made a rambling statement to the effect that some man had given him tho things to pawn. His Worship had no doubt of the accused's guilt, but as it appeared he had never been previously convicted of larcony, the comparatively light sentence of fourteen days' hard labour was paßßed upon him. BBMANDS.— On the application of Mr Joyce, tho cases of Henry Garrett, oharged with houeobroaking, and Frigioni, assault, were further adjourned to Nov. 27.
