Tho aotion M'Wiiliams, Minister of Mines in the Berry Administration, against the Argus, £2500 damages for libel, was heard on March 15. The Argus pleaded justification, and tho jury gave them a verdict, conlidcring that the article complained of was fair comment.

The jury assessed the damages at £4000 to Mrs Bailliere, whose husband was killed in the Jolimont accident.. Sho claimed £7000.
