ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

A case of attempted suicide occurred today, the perpetrator of the act being a man named Tobe Tobinson, who has been staying at Mr Hansen's boarding-house in Gloucester street. It appears that Tobinson took hit breakfast as usual, and afterwards went out. Subsequently he was discovered to be in his bedroom ; he was trembling very much, and said that ho had taken some poison. The assistance of Dr Townend waa at once obtained, and the man waa removed to the Hospital.

From subsequent inquiry it appears that at the Hospital the symptoms led to the con* elusion that strychnine had been taken. The usual means were resorted to, and some hope is entertained that the man may recover.
