CONCERT.

Last night the members of St Andrew's Choir, aaßiated by aome frieuda, gave • concert in the Oddfellows' Hall, for the benefit of their music library fund. The programmo was a sufficiently liberal ono and every item was loudly applauded by the audi•ence, which nearly filled the Hull. In tho firat part the introduction was a pianoforte -duet by Mr Sims and a young lady whose name did not appear on the programme. Mr .Edmonds eung -very well "T ie Noble Boy of Truth." A duet by two gentlemen, whose .names were not givon, followed, and was rendered with great spirit. Masters Herman then .gave operatic selections on the piano, •violin, and flute. Their performance showed that they aro making great progress, but unfortunately thoy had omitted to tune the violin and flute in accord with the piano, tho result bring anything but satisfactory to the •listeners. A gentleman aang " Good night, ieloved," very nicely. Mra Allan followed -with " Apart," which she sang in a mezzosoprano voice of considerable compass. Mr Worth next sang "Warrior Bold" with con-' siderable spirit. Messrs Edmonds and Far.rant sang "All's WeU" succeaafully. Mrs •Corrick gave very nicely a aong, the name of »which was not on the programme. A gentle- , man, whose name wae not announced, aang -with taste, "Killarney." Mr Farranfc followed with "The Death of Nelaon," and the first part concluded with "The Old Sexton," aung byi .Mr Edmund Wright, the programme said " in character," though it was nofc easy to ace •why these words should havo been inserted .in the programme, the *" make up" being by *no means characteristic. The second parfc comiafced chiefly of eacrod aelectiona, soveral , of -which were performed by the choir who : .mustered in conaidorable strength. Moat of • the numbers throughout wore encored, but - the rule "not to repeat" was judiciously The accompaniments were played '.by Messrs Wright and Sima. and the choral -(numbers were conducted by Mr North.
