Intemperance. An elderly man named Jami-s Hill was ■■ found dead early fchis morning by a milkman :in- Karangahnpe road. Hill was 60 j ear 3 of age, and arrived in Auckland in October, 1873, by the ship Ganges. He worked for some years afc tho Whitson Brewery, and acquired some property which brought him sufficient income for his maintenance, but lately he had given way to drinking. He was seen alive and apparently in good health la*t evening in Mr Boss's Hotel in company with his son. He leffc for his home at 10.30, and nothing more waa seen of him until his body was found on the footpath. At the inquest this morning the jury returned a verdict to the effect that " deceased died through exposure and continued intemperance."
