BOMBAY, Oct. 8. A reconnoitring force, under General Roberts, was attacked by large masses of the hostile tribes, who endeavoured to surround them. The British attacking column cleared the heights. The British loss was S5. The enemy's loss was heavy.
Tho force under General Robert has been attacked by a considerable number of the Cabuleso and Ghilzais, near Cabul. Severe fighting ensued, and the enemy were eventually repulsed Avith heavy loss. Twelve guns and two standards were captured. The British loss was 77 killed and wounded.
