QUEENSLAND.
The Mennonite Bishop Bugnion three or four years ago provisionally arranged with the Boucaut Cabinet, South Australia, to settle forty thousand men from Southern Eussia near Port Darwin, but the negotiations failed in consequence of tho collapse of the Boucaut Cabinet. He has Bince resided on an eatate purchased near Kockhampton, Queensland, and now Bubmits a new proposal to tho Queensland - Colonial Secretary that tho Government should defray ono half of the passago money from London for fifty men. He would nominate families amounting to 250 soulb. He ia prepared to guarantee that tho community will not involve the Government in a pound'a expenao for police, gaols, or charitable institutions. Bhould the pioneers be successful, he is confident that he willbe able within a few years to settle thousands of Mennonites in the interior of Queensland. The quarterly revonae returns ahow a decrease under every item of revenue, except licenses, harbour dues, escort fees and miscellaneous receipts, each of whioh has shghtly increosod. The return of departmental expenditure shows an increase of only £800, as compared with that of thehMt corresponding quarter.
