CHRISTCHURCH ELEOTION.
♦ The official state of the poll was declared to-day at noon, at the Oddfellows' Hall by Mr G. L. Lee, Returning Officer. The numbers were given as follows : — Sir George Grey 1315 Stevens 1250 Andrews 1250 Richardson 1227 Treadwell 548 The Returning Officer declared the three first-named gentlemen to bo duly elected to represent the electoral district of Christchurch in the Assembly. &ir George Grey, Mr Stevens and Mr Andrews were greatly cheered upon coming forward to.return thanks. Mr Treadwell and the Hon. E. Biohardßon also returned thanks. Sir George Grey was again cheered as he entered his carriage to return to his hotel.
