[SPBCIAL.J Sept. 2. Mr Christie, Manager of the Colonial Bank, who has been appointed to the management Branch at Wellington, was presented with a silver salver and a purse of sovereigns by a number of his friends to-day. PORT CHALMERS. Sept. 3. A six-roomed house in Carey's Bay waß burnt down this morning. It was insured in tho National Insurance Office for £200, and the furniture for £100 in the same offico.
