HUDSON'S SURPRISE PARTY.
The farewell performance of tht3 Company, and benefit of Mr 0. Wallace, drew an excel* lent house at tbe Theatre Royal last evening. In the very excellent programme which was presented, may be specially mentioned the pretty ballads— "Dear Little Shamrock," by Miss Mayen ; " Roses Underneath the Snow, ' by Miss Norton ; and " Pretty Flowers " and "Ruby "by Misa Burton. Mr H. F.'Towle, "Who appeared for this occasion, g*ve " Hark, the Drum" very effectively, and later in the evening he and Mi9S Burton were vociferously applauded for their rendering of a duet from "Doa PaßQUalo." which they were compelled to repeat. Mr Wallace's " Little German Band/ and" Mr Hudson's "Mercenary Jane" caused a good deal of laughter. In the second portion of tho programme Mias De Gay was deservedly encored for her execution of a fantasia on the violin, and the Brothers Dural gave a solo on the bones, which was a very clever performance. Two amusing sketches by Messrs Wallace, Hudson, and Glover sent, the audience away in good humour. The Company, gave a performance at the Lunatio Asylum in^ the afternoon.' M'Lean's Juvenile Dramatic Trouba* dors; of whom report speaks highly, will make their first appearance at the Theatre Bdyal this evening. '
