An Argus Scholarship for engineering has been founded in tho University. The proprietors gave £1000 towards it.
SYDNEY, April 17.
Tho son and clerk to tho Undor-Secretary for Education, has been accused in th« Assembly of writing to teachers offering to sell stationery, asking contributions for a distressed friend unnamed, and promising his influence for an equivalent.
The trial of tho Hadfleld bushrangers comcommcnccd at Denlinquin to-day. The prisoners pleaded not guilty.
