In our issue of yesterday, mention was rr ado of the fact that a young man named Brighting, aged 18, fell from on elevated wire on which he was giving a porforaanco, and dislocated hiß right ancle. He was not taken to the Hospital, as he objected to go thero, but is being treated as a private patient by Dr Prin?, under whoso care he is progressing favourably. In the Selling race yesterday, when fche horses had turned into tho Btraighfc run home, Mr D. O'Brien's bay filly Fenella stumbled, threw her rider, and rolled over him. The unfortunate jockey, a lad named Martin, was afc once brought in a cab to the dressing room, and attended to by Drs Campbell and Prins. No bones appeared to have been broken, but it was evident that the lad was most severely shaken. After a time he became semi-conscious. Mr Neilson kindly suggested thafc the lad should be carried across to his cottage, by the railway terminus, and this was done. Greafc sympathy was expressed for the sufferer.
