SAINT BARTHOLOMEW'S, KAIAPOI.

This church was very tastefully decorated on Sunday last (ICaster Sunday), with fiowers and floral devices. The Communion table, lectern, reading desk and other rails were festoone I with wreaths of greenery, dahlias and other flowers. The Communion table was surmounted by a protty iloral cross. Thore was also a largo cross over the North door inado of white wool on a scarlpt ground, and one over tho South door of white wool studded with stars made of flowers. The services were in the morning semi-choral, and in the ovening full choral, Mrs Hardy presiding at tho organ on both occasions. The hymns sung in tho morning were "Tho Strife is o'er the Battle Done" (135), " Light's Glittering Morn Bedecks tho Bky" (126), and "Jesus Christ is Risen To-day" (134). In tho ovening " The Strife is o'er tho Battle Dono " (135), "Light's Glittering Morn Bedecks tho Sky" (126), "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" (136), and "Alleluia, Alleluia" (137), all from Hymns Ancient and Modern. The curato in charge, the Rev D. O. Hampton, preached both morning and evening, taking liia text from fil.h chap, of St Paul's epistle to the Romans, from tho Oth to tho 11 Hi vorees in the morning, and sth chap, of St Paul's episfclo to the Romans, from the 7th to the Oth verses, in the evening. The Church wus crowded at both services.
