INSURANCES ON THE LATE FIRES,
We have been courteously furnished with correct information relative to the amounts of insurances in connection with the fires in Lichfield and Cashel streets, showing the ex'ent to which tho various Insurance Companies are involved. The list is as follows : — Colonial, £1000; Norwich Union, £1' 00 ; New Zealand, £-JOO0; Union, £1500; South British, £3000 ; London and Lancashire, £1500 ; Standard, £2000 ; Liverpool, London and Globe, £1000 ; National, £2000 ; Commercial Union, £1000. In cellar — London and Lancashire, £250; Standard, £1000: Transatlantic, £1000 ; Northern, £500 ; grand total, £19,750. The or.ly salvage obtainable will be from the stock in the cellar, which maj perhaps prove to bo comparatively uninjured. Messrs Twenf.yman aud Cousins' fire, on building and stock, South British £750. and Colonial £750 : total, £1500.
