[special] Jan. IG. The ship St. Leonards is now ready for eea with a cargo valued at £90,000. She will probably sail to-morrow. H.M.S. Nyrnphe arrived to-day from Sydney, haying left on Jan. 7. On the voyage the second captain of the main-top, a man named Browse, missed his footing and fell into the sea. They were unable to save him. Rignold had a magnificent benefit last nigbt, when he appeared in a new drama, entitled "Alone," and as William in " BlackEyed Susan." To-night is his last night here. ' Colonel Whitniore returned to-day. The Revs J. Clover and J. Guy, of the Primitive Methodist Church, were last night admitted to the ministry. The city valuation this year is £241,808, as against £207,605 last year.. The Governor is said to have strongly objected to the advice to call Mr Dignan to the Council, on the ground that no further nominations should be made to that body. Ministers, however, pressed their advice, and the Governor gave way.
