r LONDON, Jan. 9. / A proposal to reduce the wages of ;he Yorkshire colliers resulted in a strike. 7000 men are out of work, and the manufacture of railway iron has been stopped. Engineers to the number of 2000 have also struck against a proposal to extend the hours of work without extra pay. The whole of the London trades' organisation,, assist the Unionists, and a special fund is being to assist the strikers. The British garrison at Pivar Pass are threatened with a raid by the hill tribes, and urgently demand help. General Roberts' division has arrived at Matsum, and are advancing to Cabul.
