ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS.

The fifteenth annual meeting of the Canterbury United District Court, A.0.F., was held in the Foresters' Hall, Oxford Terrace, at seven o'clock on Thursday evening. The officers present were— D.C.R., Bro. Ralph, in the chair ; D.S.C.R., Bro. Phipps ; D.T., Bro. Crooks ; D.S., Bro. W. Ness ; Beadle, Bro. Mummery. The delegates in attendance were— Court 2309, P.C.R's, Bros. Gapes and Williams; 2703, P.D.C.R., Bro. Willcox and P.C.R,, Bro. M. Weastall; 6031, Sec, Bro. Bedford.

The D.C.R. having opened the Court in due form, the Secretary read the minutes of the last meeting, which were confirmed ; and the auditors reported that they had examined all books, vouchers, and scrip, and found everything correct. The Secretary presented the balance-sheet, which showed an increase of £150 over the past year.

P.C.R's, Bros. Gapes and Williams, and P.D.C.R., Bro. Willcox were appointed a Committee to act with the District Secretary in revising the district by-laws. The Secretary reported that five members and three members' wives had died during the past year.

The following members were elected as the district officers for the ensuing year :— D.C.R., Bro. Phipps ; D.S.C.R., Bro. M. Woastall ; D.T., Bro. Crooks ; D.S., Bro. W. Ness. P.D.C.R., Bro. Ralph was presented with a P.D.C.R's ribbon, and it was resolved that liis name should be placed on the respejt board. Alter discussion, it was resolved that as soon as any further increase iv the number of Courts should be apparent, the members of the District Court would support holding the District meetings elsewhere than in Christchurch or Lyttelton. P.D.C.R. Bro. Willcox was appointed to confer with the Committee from Court 2309, relative to procuring a testimonial for presentation to P.C.R. Bro. Woodford, in recognition of his past services, the brother having been the founder of Forestry in New Zealand.

It was resolved that the sum of £100 should be invested in the Mutual Benefit Society, located at the offices of Mr J. A. Bird, as soon as such sum is available.

It was resolved that the annual balance sheets of Courts and Districts should be printed for distribution as heretofore.

Resolved—" That a vote of thanks be recorded on the minutes to the past officers, for their services during the year." Various accounts having been passed for payment , the D.C.R. closed the Court in due form.
