The following returns of appointments, proclamations, &c, appear in to-night's Gazette : —
Section 29, block 2, Longwood is declared open for sale on Feb. 18. A description of certain lands taken for roads in County of Bruce and County of Selwyn. Mr James Fraser is appointed Registrar of Dogs, Mount Somers, Ashburton. Alteration in the boundary of the Western Otago District Court. Extension of time for the sitting of the Wyndham Assessment Court till to-day. Temporary preservation of land in Nelson and Wellington. Appointment of Messrs Wm. Greenbank, Clias. Wise, and Stephen Head as Trustees of Drybread Cemetery. Notice of hours, time, and place of sitting of District Court, Otago Gold-fieldß and Western Otago. Appointment of Resident Magistrates and others as Judges of Assessment Courts under the Rating Act throughout the Colony. Appointment of Superintendent Collectors of Agricultural Statistics. Appointment of Mr James Parkins to be Auditor of the Hokorua Rabbit District, Mr Benjamin Willoughby to be Town Clerk of Campbelltown, and T. A. Harris to be Registrar of Births.
Giving provisional acceptance of the following nominations by the American Government: — Mr John H. Salmon, as United States Consular Agent at Russell ; Mr Robert Wyles, do. at Mongonui ; and Mr Charles Benjamin Taylor, do. at Christchurch. Appointment of Mr Robert Smart as Registrar and Returning Officer for Napier districts.
Letters of naturalization to Wm. George Dettleff Bohrring, miner, at Alexandra. Appointment of Mr G. L. Mellish, to be Rlt at Lyttelton, with £100 jurisdiction; of Mr Colin M'Kenzie Gordan to be Sheriff of Otago; of the Mayors of Ross, St Kilda South, Invercargill, Roslyn and Dunedin, te be Justices of the Peace ; of Sergeant M'Guire, to be Clerk of the R.M. Court, Waiapu. Resignation of Captain Galping of the Royal Rifle Volunteers. Mr John Innes to be an Assistant Surveyor in Surveyor General's department. Notice of Mr Hay's resignation for Nelson. Change of the name of Coldstream Post Office from Canterbury to Ealing.
