ESCAPE OF TURNER FROM GAOL.

It will boromembored that "Dr" Turner for reoontly *toaliog a coot roooived a months' im« prisonnaont, On leaving gaol, he was again arrested on a furthor ohargo of laroony, and who brought boforo the Court last Tuesday when, .on the application of Mr Inapootor Feast, he was remanded for a week. Turner appears to £iwa pome sort of objeotion to

remaining in prison with charges hanging over his head, for shortly boforo noon on Saturday he sucoeeded in making his escape from Aldington Gaol. It appears that he was in one of the yards by himsolf for a short time, and that by loosoning ono of the sheets of galvanised iron ho was enabled to obtain a footing, rcaoh tho top of the wall, and jump to tho around on tho other side, so giving "leg bail,'' not boing able to find any other security for his roieaso. He was missed almost at onoo by one of tho warders, who saw him in tho distanoe, and gave chase. Had tho warder been armed it is probable tho ci-devant dootor would havo boon brought down. Ho proved a good running man, however, and waß very soon lost to sight behind a clump of bushes, and sinoe that time he has not been seen or heard of. Tho police wore out in largo numbers on Saturday and during yesterday scouring tho country round, but they did not succeed in obtaining any tidings of tho prison-breaker.
