Timabu, Aug. 13. The schooner Aurora, which came ashore here some time since, was got off this afternoon without any apparent damage. "Wellington, Aug. 14, 5.10 p.m. The first twenty-four clauses of the Public Works Bill were passed without substantial alteration. A large number of amendments by Messrs Hall, Richmond, Rolleston, and one by Mr Peacock, to allow part of the money for Canterbury to be expended on harbour works, were negatived without division. An amendment of Mr [Richmond's, preventing payment for railways being made in land, came to a division, when ifc was negatived by 39 to 11. I The Lord Ashley arrived at Napier from Auckland yesterday.
