VIA SUEZ, MARSEILLES, AND BRINDISI, ON SATURDAY, JULY 2, at 11.15 a.m. Mails for the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Asia, and Africa, via Suez, Marseilles, and Brindisi, will close at 11.15 a.m. on Saturday, July 2. Correspondence intended to be forwarded by this route must be specially so addressed. Mails for the Australian colonies, and Northern provinces of New Zealand, at 11.15 a.m. on Saturday, July 2. Late letters for all the above places can be posted until 11.35 a.m. Such letters must bear the usual late fee in postage stamps.
...The. postage on ordinary and registered ietters, book-packets, and newspapers, posted for the United States, British North America, and the Sandwich Islands is at the same rate as for England via Suez and Southampton — namely, 6d per half ounce for letters, and Id each for newspapers, and fid for registration.
