CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. (Before C. C. Bowen, Esq , R.M.) Drunkenness.— Patrick Moen, alias James Smith, alias James Wallis. was brought up ia the custody of Constable Eares, charged with having been drunk and disorderly, and using obscene language in front of Barnard's Repository, yesterday. Having been frequently convicted for similar offences, his Worship severely reprimanded him, and imposed a flne of 40s, with the Option, in default, of 96 hours' imprisonment. Illegally on Premises. — John Timakaheai, a young able-bodied Maori, in custody, was charged with having illegally trespassed on the premises of Mr Read, South-east town belt. From the evidence of another Maori, and prisoner's general appearance, he -was evidently of unsound mind, and was remanded until Thursday, in order that his parents and the Rer. J. W. Stack might be communicated witb at Kaiapoi.
