GOLFERS VISIT TO WKAKATANE
CREDITABLE PERFORMANCE GIVEN A team of 24 players from the Te Puke Men's Golf Club paid a visit to Whakatano during the weekend. Engaging the local golfers in foursomes during the morning and singles in the afternoon, the visitors performed creditably as in all cases they were meeting opponents on lower handicap. The majority of the matches were won by the home side. The visitors were entertained royally and appreciated the experience of playing away under very frendly conditions. The annual qompe.tition conducted by the Te Puke Golf Club for the Captain’s Trophy has reached the semifinal stages. The following is the draw for the round: N. Copestake v. R. Steevens; D.
