FORESTERS' LODGE
ANNUAL BANQUET A happy baud oi lodge members and visitors attended the a'hhual banquet of the Ancient Order ot Foresters in lit. Andrew’s Hall oil Tuesday evening.. The proceedings of me evening were under the capable chairmanship of Air T. E. Palmer, chairman ot the Te Puke Lodge, Ancient Order of Foresters. In the interval between toasts, , Air Palmer kept the evening going by his persuasive manner in asking members to oblige with songs and musical items. ■ Notable among these were Air A. Beale with his comic songs, Mrs liodgsqn, Aliss W. Harris at the piano and Air G. Webber piano accordeon. Among those present from other lodges were Mr Humphreys, of Wellington, a former past president of the Te Puke Druid's’ Lodge ; and Air Tom Taylor, a blind member of the Auckland Druids. These two visitors assisted the entertainment with musical items. - The toasts and responses were as follows : —Tlie Ladies, proposed by Mr A. W. Beale, response, Aliss E. Tanner; The Druids, proposed by Bro. Gray, response, Bro. C. Humphreys; The For-” esters, proposed by Airs Hodgson, response, Bro. W. Donovan; The Oddfel- - lows, 1.6,, proposed by Bro. F. Jones, J response, Bro. Gray; Manchester Unity, proposed by Bro. R. Spraggon, response, Aliss Muggeridge; District Officers, proposed by Sis. J. Tanner, response,Bro. A. Ryburn; Public Services, ' proposed by Sis. Murphey, response, Bro. H. Fletcher; The Visitors, proposed by Bro. O’Reilly, response, Mr Tom Taylor; Absent Friends, proposed by Bro. W. Bennett, response, Bro. W. Slater; The Press, proposed by Bro. Hansen,- response, Air W. W. Johnstone; Stewards and Musicians, proposed by Bro. Gordon, response, Aliss W. Harris; The Chairman, proposed by Bro. Hodgson, response, Air Palmer.
