A meeting of the 'i’e Puke branch of the Women’s Division Farmers’ Union was held in the rooms on the 15th August, the president, Miss Cruickshank, presiding over a good attendance. The secretary read a letter of invitation from the Paengaroa Institute to attend their birthday party in the Hall on August 17th. A letter on exhibits and exhibition was also read and discussed. ..Mrs Hodgson tabled her monthly report from the Representative Committee. Mrs Singleton .reported having taken £ls 16s from the street stall, this sum going towards the Maketu Centennial. A flower demonstration was conducted by Mrs Campney during the -social halfhour. The points prize lor best bloom went- to Miss Cruickshank, with Mrs limes and Mrs McCullough tieing for second place* The afternoon was brought to a close with the serving of afternoon tea by the hostesses, Mrs Dicky and Miss Diprose.
