DANCING
School Concert. The Maketu School Concert, to be held in the Whakaue Hall,
Maketu, on Friday, August 12th, promises to be an outstanding entertainment. A feature of the concert will be the operetta, “Princess Chrysanthemum,” performed by the children. Dance at Paengaroa.
A reminder is given of the combined Friendly Societies’ dance in the Paengaroa Hall tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. The Ambassadors’ Orchestra has been engaged for the occasion, and this band of musicians promise some novelties in their repertoire. A waltzing competition, carrying a prize of a 15/- order is included in the programme. A free bug will run for the convenience of local patrons. Druids Dance.
Arrangements are well in hand for the Druids’ annual dance in the Paengaroa Hall on August 10th. During the evening twenty prizes will be offered for dancing competitions, and as the first prize-dance will be at 8.45p.m. patrons should be early on the scene. Decorative hats will be issued to dancers at the door. The music will be provided by the Ambassadors’ Orchestra. ’ A real carnival touch will be given with the inclusion of confetti and streamer dances. Prizes are on view at Mr J. Persy’s business premises.
