Power Cut-off. Consumers are notified by advertisement in this issue, that electric power will be cut off in the Borough area tomorrow (Wednesday), 3rd August, between the hours of 1 and 3.30 p, m.; and also on Wednesday, 10th Angust, during the same hours.

Boy Scouts The winner of the Taniko headband at the card evening at Maketu last Friday was Mr S. Namaka, of Otamarakau. At Maketu next Tuesday evening the Maori Concert Party "will have a full dress rehearsal preparatory to commencing a series of entertainments to/aid in sending several Maketu scouts to the Sydney Jamboree. Mr J. T. Barclay, M.P. for Marsden, will visit To Puke on Monday, Bth August, and address the electors in the Capitol Theatre at 8 pm. Mr Barclay is recognised as a very able speaker, and his visit to Te Puke will no doubt be looked forward to with interest. Mr Barclay is also addressing a meeting at Pukehina on Tuesday, 9th August, at 2.30 p.m. His subject on both occasions will be “The case for the Farmer,” a subject that vitally in'e eits the fanning community.
