Annual Race Meeting
JUNE 23ri> The annual race meeting of the Paengroa-Te Puke Racing Club will be held on the Club’s course, Maketu Junction, on Wednesday, June 23rd. Tho following programme has been approved by the Auckland District Committee: — Railway Handicap—Of 20 sovs. Distance, 7 furlongs. To start at 12.30 p.m. Rangit'ru Hunters' Hurdles Handicap—Of 25 sovs. Distance, 1) miles, over 6 flights of hurdles. For qualified Hunters, ridden by Gentlemen Riders only. To start at 1.15 p.m. Pahngaroa Maiden Stakes— Of 15 sovs. (Weight for age). For horses that have never won a flat race up to the time of starting. Distance, 6 furlongs. To start at 2 p.m. Bay of Plenty Cup Handicap of £SO and Trophy value lOgns. —Distance, 1j- miles. To start at 2.15 p.m. Pa hxgaro a Hunters’ Steeplechase Handicap—Of 20 sovs. Distance, 2 miles. For horses qualified with the Rotorua-Bay of Plenty Hunt Club and owned by members of that Club for season 1937. Horses to be ridden by gentlemen riders only. To start at 3.30 p.m.
Te Puke Handicap—Of 25 sovs. Distance, 6 fnrlongs. To start at 1.15 p.m.
Nominations for events will close at S p.m. on Saturday, June 19th. Handicaps will appear on Monday morning, June 21st. Acceptances close.at Bp.m. on Monday, June 21st.
