The Te Puke Times FRIDAY, MAY 3. 1935

NEXT Wednesday the. election for the seven members of the Tau range Power Board is to be held. Electors in this District have to consider the position. At last election a number of candidates from this district were candidates. Only one was elected, Mr Mends. It was evident that electors of this district had in a magnanimous spirit voted freely. Electors in the Western ridings had voted chiefly for their own candidates. The result was as stated. After the election we had ample evidence of bow the overwhelming majority od the Western side was used. It is only fair to Mr Game and Mr Lever to say tint at all times and on all occasions they acted impartially in the interests of the whole district. Mr Sinclair is not seeking re-election. Mf Darragh is a non consumer who is seeking re-election There is also Mr Clark who received, considerable support in this district at last election. That support was, we think, given in & spirit of trying out a new candidate. The electors cannot afford to repeat the experiment. Eleo tors will, therefore, remember that every vote cast for more than four candidates of the Western side means a oandidate less for this district. However, the cboioe is very simple, even in the calibre of the men, and a pleasing feature of this choice is that without arousing any local or sectional animosities the natural choice happens to be the fair thing for the whole district, That choice should be—

Mends, MacDougall and Blaymlree, representing the Te Puke and Maketu Hidings, Baron, residing in-and-repre-senting the Kati JEati riding, Gane, residing in and represent tog the Te Puna Riding. LeVer residing in and representing the Waimapu Riding, and Smith, the present Chairman, who resides at Gate Pa.
