DAIRY CATTLE BREEDERS

Palmerston N., Feb 2 The executive of the Dairy Cattle Breeders’ Federation at Fielding last evening discussed the importation into New Zealand of Australian dairy cattle. The request from New gouth Wales, that the embargo on the importations of cattle be lifted from parts of Australia free from disease, was considered, and it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the Department of Agriculture.

The meeting also discussed at length the question of “scrub” bulls, having received from the Livestock Division of the Department of Agriculture in Victoria an outline of a scheme there to help the farmers to secure pedigree bulls for their herds. It was decided to forward a copy of the letter to the various breed societies. .
