7000 MEN WANTED. Wellington, Thursday. In the House of Representatives on Wednesday the Premier moved that, in view of the fact that Great Britain has become involved in war with Germany this House approve of the necessary steps being taken by the Mew Zealand Government to havs in readiness an expeditionary force.
Speaking to the motion, Mr Massey said it was intended to mobilise a part of the territorials, and to invite seven or eiaiit thousand volunteers for service at home or abroad.
Sir Joseph Ward eudorsed the proposal, which was carried unanimously.
