On Thursday, October 30th, the third concert of the season will be given by the Royal Auckland Choir in the Town Hall. This choir, founded in 1892 as the Auckland Liedertafel (one of the oldest and the largest male voice choirs in the Dominion), has recently been honoured by His Majesty the King, and henceforward will bear the title, "Royal Auckland Choir." On this occasion the choir, augmented by a full orchestra under the leadership of Mr. Harold Baxter, will render Schubert's massive chorus, "Great is Jehovah" and Felicien David's symphonic ode "The Desert." Songs will be rendered by Miss Vera Moginie, and Mr. Thomas Harris, elocutionist, will recite "The Highwayman," in addition to the monologue in "The Desert."
