BOWLING.
A very enjoyable time was spent on Mount Eden bowling green last Saturday afternoon by the enthusiastic bowlers taking advantage of the lovely sunshiny hours. The green played to a nicety, and good games were put up to the satisfaction of all. H. Surman (Mt. Edne) played W. Fogarty (North Shore) 18. C. C. Baker and H. Pitts were the respective "threes." In playing the 15th head Surman aimed at trailing the Kitty but took out his own wood, lying third shot and five went to Fogarty. W Lowe (Waitemata) and President H. N. Gill (Mt. Eden) skipped their fours. The former notched five threes, while the President got a four and two threes. The game resulted Lowe 22, Gill 19. J. Fell and S. Cooper played as "threes. The champion of Dominion Bowlin<>- Club, J. Vuglair, scored 29 in playing J. Smith, of Mt. Eden, 16. Veterans H. N. Garland and H. Hemus were the respective ' threes while Bridges, champion lead of Grey Lynn Club (who is joining Mt. Eden) and E. Lewis were the leads. In playing 25 heads the winner scored on 16 and also notched a five. The Mt. Eden Bowing Club committee have met in connection with the proposed "Bowlers' Convalescent Home" for returned' wounded soldiers and have issued a circular to members to accompany the special circular from the Auckland Centre of New Zealand Bowling Association.
