GOLDEN CROSS
The Miners' Union held their tortnightly socia! on Saturday night. It was a great success. Everybody seemed to enjoy themselves, except E R, who appeared lonely. Was it because- J M did not turn up ? ... There was a big go between the local baker and F B as to who should dance most with C Y...W R had to take a back seat, but better luck next time, \V.. The Waihi sports provided an interesting race between C G and J P for the boarding-house stakes. J P won, hard held. ..The O M would like to know if W has returned the young iady's boots yet. Too bad to keep them so long, W...How is it C C does not take LB to the dance now ? Is he afraid of losing her ? ...J T and E S looked very loving down the line on Sunday... W H continues to come irom Wai'i- to see A H and the tram line seems to be a favourite walk of theirs. ..W R still continues a strong favourite for the Cambridge Stakes, arid it looks a good thing on paper... J C is going strong with A R, so get the cans ready, boys.
