ARATAPU.
A very pleasant evening was Bpent in the Aratapu Library on July 9th, when the elder of the ohildren who took part in the concerts given by Mrs D. Oarno, in aid sf the late pianio held at MoKean's .farm, were presented with books. There were gameß of all descriptions, whioh all present thoronghly enjoyed. . A dainty supper wsb provided by Mrs Curno, to which upwardß of fifty couple did ample justice. Mr E. Phelan read the list of moneys expended, after which Mra D Curno, on behalf of the oommittee, presented each ohild with a nioe book. Mr Curno thanked those present for their kind assistance, especially Mr W. J. Bassett and Mr E Phelan. The pjcnio, in faot, reflected great credit on the whole of the committee. The evening's amusement terminated with three cheers for Mr and Mrs Curno.
