TE PUKE
The farewell social tendered to Mr A. F. Burton was a pronounced success. .The O M noticed E H's young man was absent. Bumour hath it that they are engaged ; but why did E K take her to the ba11?...E B seemed in a bad humour. ..Too bad of D B to scratch E's name off a certain young lady's programme. .J J K is right bower with Miss B. Another case of ' When ye gang awa, Jamie ' . .Who was the young lady that kept dances for the boy that didn't come?.. . Certain young ladies were casting sheep's eyes at the Waikato boy...D B enjoys M H's company ; also her waltzing ..Mr C and Miss S, of Taurauga, were doing a quiet spoon in the buggy.. TH was oft times seen admiring his shoes. He is going to ' have it ont ' with the O M when they meet. .Great regret is expressed at losing such highly esteemed residents as Mr and Mrs Burton, and I wish them a future of prosperity.
