COROMANDEL.
The Coromandel young man who so freely called out for ' more ' received full measure of that commodity the other night, when her father, with a friend armed with the traditional blackthorn, traced upon his seat of learning a revised map of the goldfields. When the kind inquiry was made of him if he still wanted ' more,' his ungracious reply, ' Not for Joe,' was appalling. .The Hospital Reserve at Coromandel must prove itself a very plague spot, with the adjacent cemetery drainage flowing thereon, and with scores of families camped under sacks and tents and depositing rubbish into the stream that otherwise would be of use as a water supply to the town until the more requisite supply is provided.. The luestion of * Mixed Bathing ' may be con sidered finally settled by Coromandelites, when men, women, and children may be seen throughout the day in very meagre attire bathing together within three hundred feet of a main thorouehfare.
