PIRONGIA.

A very pleasant evening was spent at the Library on the occasion of the social given by the young ladies of Pirongia. Although it rained all day (Friday) up till late in the evening, there was a very fair number present. I noticed: — Miss Allen, dressed in black and white; Miss R Aubin, pink and black ; MissE Kennels, red and white ; Miss L Rennels, red ; Miss Moore, of Hamilton, pink and white; Miss Aubin, blue and black ; and Mrs Aubin, black. Amongst the gentlemen present were Mr Kay, Mr Bambridge, Mr Conn, Mr Smith, Mr Chappell, and several others. ..Where was GA ? Was he offended at W S for taking Miss M ? Never mind, G, keep on believing. .Why did the Misses R put on so much side at the social, and why do they take so much pleasure in hearing themselves talk Maori ?...W 8 and L M were doing a great spoon in the corner. It was too bad of S C to play goo3eberry. .Miss W was piling it on very heavily with Mr K..W Me seems to pay great attention to BJ. Be careful, B ; the O M has got his eyes on you. . W 8 and L M, I hear, are to be married shortly. Get your tin cans ready.. Who were the two joung ladies who got stuck in the mud trying to cross the swamp on their way to the Maori church the other Sunday ?
