U/rOONT EDEN BOAD DISTRICT.— JXL PUBLIC NOTICE OP SPEOIAI, BATE.— In the matter of a petition presented to the Mount Eden Boad Board, signed by Ratepayers representing more than two-thirds of the number and more than one half of the assessed value of the Special Bate District hereinafter described, and requesting that a Special Bate be made and levied over such portion of the Mount Eden Road District as the Board may determine upon, for the purpose ef providing a contribution towards the widening of the Mount Roskill Bailway Bridge by the New Zealand Government, and this work being considered one of urgent necessity, and which will benefit a portion of the Mount Eden Road District, and the said Board having fixed the boundaries of the Special Bate District hereinafter described, and to be known as the Moant Boskill Boad Special Rate District. Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions of ' The Road Boards Act, 1852,' Sections 120, 121, and 122, and of ' The Bating Act, 1894,' the Mount Eden Boad Board intend, at a Special Meeting of the Board to be held on October sth, 1896, by Special Order to confirm a resolution passed at a Meeting of the Board on the 31st August, 1896, viz., 'That a Special Bate of Three Farthincs in the £ be struck on the whole of the properties comprised within the boun daries of the Mount Boskill Hoad Special Bate District, as now agreed upon at this meeting, and that the same be payable m one sum on the sth day of January, 1897.' BOUNDARIES OF THE SPECIAL RATE DISTRICT.— Commencing at Mr, Baker's, Rocky Nook, part of lot 21, Section 10 north- west corner of the Mount Eden Road District, and also part of lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, section 10, southward along the line separating the Mount Eden and Mount Albert Road Districts to the junction with the Mount Roskill Boad District at lot 126, section 10, thence easterly along the line of road bounding 114, section 10, to the dividing line of lots 114 and 93: thence north to a line intersecting part of lot 104 c, section 10, thence north and west to the dividing line of lots 8 and 9, subdivision of lot 7, section 10, thence north to dividing line of subdivisions 16 and 17 of lot 8, section 10, and lots 6 and 7, subdivision of lofe 9, section 10, to View Road; thence westerly to dividing line of lots 19 and 30; thence north to north east corner of lot 45, section 10, subdivision of Stonyhurst; thence west along a line, trie boundary of Miss Thompson's property; thence north and we>t of the same to the Mount Roskill Road.
