The 0 M went to tbe bachelors' ball which cßine ofT here last mouth. Everything passed off smoothly until supper time, and then, oh, what a rush ! The language used by certain half-tipsy men would lead one to believe they were in abar roo »\ and not in a ball-room. I noticed among?t the ladies preseut Miss McKay, white and r>ale blue trimmings; Miss Johnson, pale pink; Miss Snowden, pale blue and white, pwa.nsdown trimmings: Miss Parkinson, black; Mies Morgan, pain blue and crcme lace; Mis* McDowe'l, nalfi blue and creme lac« ; Miss Larkin, white and black trimmings; Mrs J Brown, creme and pink trimmings; Mrs H Sutherland, white a^d pink trimmings; Mrs J Cronin, black skirt and pink blouse; Mrs Lowrie, black ; Mrs H Dickenson, black ; Mrs J Green, pale blue and black trimmings ; Mrs D McGill, black, and others too numerous to mention. The opinion of most present was that the houour of belle lay between Miss Johuson and Miss Morgan, and, of course, the O M was beau.
