OMAPERE
N.M. does not dance with. Q.B. now. Is the cousin a greater attraction?.. The following amusing incident explains itself. Scene : Pakia beach. 'Oh M.B. have you given up dancing, as you never attend our dances now?' 'Haw, no, Miss F., but the Omapere balls are hardly — aw — refined enough for me.' So saying, and heedless of the adage that ' pride goeth before a fall ' W.B. stepped backward, and, dreadful to relate, came in violent contact with a log, which caused him to sit down in a rather hurried and ungraceful manner to the infinite amusement of the onlookers, one of whom exclaimed ' Great was the fall thereof.' . .Who were the young couple locked in loving embrace walking towards the Pilot station. Thought no one saw them, eh !. . J.M., since his return to Omapere has become very bashful, or is the bashf ulness only a way of expressing disgust?. .Who was it singing the other night ' Queen of my heart, None shall us part, Life of my soul, I love you ?' He must have got a bad attack.
