MAKETU.
The belles of the Hunua Ball were selected to suit the O.M. that elected them. The majority of the gentlemen present at the ball divided honours between Miss Stewart and Miss Toomey, for both looked handsome. Who was the young lady that used very unparliamentary language at the ball ? She should remember that she was not at home.
Exhibition on lassooing was well accomplished by Fan. She caught her man in the first act. The audience declare that she is no novice at the game ; she must have taken lessons from the cowboys.
Jim gave a large dinner party to 25 ladies on Sunday, 17th inst. When the different courses were done, Jim told the waiter to bring the pudding, but when he pu6 the knife in it, it turned out to be a pumpkin.
