MANAIA.
What did IvI.P. say wheu CM. popped the question to her on New Years Day ? Judging from his countenance of late I should say it was a very unsatisfactory answer. Poor C. never mind, 'as good fish ' &C...T.K. and 8.8. were doing a, quiet mash on Sunday night and would any night but there would not have been so much kissing and so many ' good-nights ' at the gate had they known the 6M. was in the vicinity... lt is whispered that A.M.C. is engaged to a Wanganui masher and is going to change her name soon. Rather rough on the local mashers...! hear L.O.G. is anxious to change her name so you must come to time, G. or T. P. "will be cutting you out. ..Another show for our local mashers. I<\K. has gone bsck to the bush so M.S. will be on the look out for a temporary walking-stick . . . W. Of. piling it on pretty heavy with S.B. Monday night. But it was rather rough on him when E.V. took S. away from him before all the boys... Who is the young man that goes to Hawera &o" often to see a certain young 1 lady and she gives him the slip ; they say it is E.C . . . J.M.C. is on the warpath again .
