THE CHARGES AGAINST A PRESBYTERIAN CLERGYMAN.
"VVb stop the press to state that at a meeting of the Auckland Presbytery yesterday, a resolution was passed to the following effect :— That having examined witnesses they found the charge unsupported, that the girl had shown gross contradictions in her evidence, which had destroyed the trustworthiness of her evidence, and that her admissions as to her own character she wed that the charge was ground less, and that no stigma rested on the clergyman. The Presbytery expressed its profound sympathy with Mr K. in the painful circumstances in which he had been placed. We shall refer to this matter at greater length next week.
