To his astonishment and disgust the lady hastily snatched him up in her arms, exclaiming, 'Bless his heart; let me take him in out of the dust.' The poor little felloAV, struggling and kicking in her arms like a refractory baby Avas, after receiving a kiss from his greasy nurse, carried into his office, the merriment of a number of bystanders scarcely adding to his equanimity.
