A Maori woman, Ramarihi Tit'U, aged 93, of Talieraiti, near Dannevhk., met her death under tragic ci;\ r.m stances -on Saturday. She was a pas senger on the Wcllington-Nap'c • express and was returning to Dannevirke from a short stay at Ratana Pa. As the train was passing over the bridge which, spans the Uohanginn River at Ashhurst by some means she fell from a carriage platform to be precipitated into the shallow water of a stream 25ft below.

Death was instantaneous, both the victim’s leg being broken.
