ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
WAITAKARURU BRANCH. VALUABLE SERVICE RENDERED. * t An organisation that is deserving of public support on the Hauraki Plains is tho Waitakaruru branch of the St. John Ambulance. During the football season just past, this body has given a great service to injured players, a total of 73 cases being treated. Chving to some members being players and others unavailable, four members carried out all public duties, all AA r ork being A’oluntary. Long distances are travelled by members to Aveckly parades and to public duties, and all expenses incurred are paid by individual members. A donation of £4/4/- by the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union Avas much appreciated by members. To maintain a service to the public, their support is absolutely necessary, and further contributions Avould be gratefully received by the branch secretary, Mr. B. J. Welch, of Pipiroa.
